Worldwide: International Arbitration and Cyprus

This engaging webinar, presented by Patrikios Legal, aims to explore the significance and role of Cyprus in the realm of International Arbitration in an interactive format. SPEAKERS
Stavros Pavlou

Stavros Pavlou is the Executive Chairman of Patrikios Pavlou & Associates LLC. He is an experienced litigator, arbitrator and legal consultant and he is widely regarded as one of the top litigators in Cyprus. Stavros represents an impressive portfolio of major local and international corporate clients and HNWIs in commercial dispute resolution matters, including judicial and arbitration proceedings in the courts of Cyprus and abroad. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution (AIADR), a practising barrister before the Commercial Court of the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC) and a member of many international associations including the IBA, LCIA and ICCA. Stavros actively participates as a keynote speaker and panellist in local and overseas conferences and he further promotes the ADR practices in Cyprus by participating in podcasts and webinars. Lastly, he frequently contributes articles in international publications on litigation, arbitration, trusts and corporate law matters.

Eleana Christofi

Eleana Christofi is a Partner in the dispute resolution department of Patrikios Pavlou & Associates LLC. Eleana holds an LLM in international business law from the University of Manchester and an MSc in management from Lancaster University. She joined the firm as a trainee in 2009, was admitted to the Cyprus Bar Association in 2010 and was promoted to partner in 2019. Eleana has authored and co-authored various articles on litigation and arbitration and is involved in civil, commercial and corporate litigation cases, both domestic and international; shareholder disputes; injunctive reliefs; insolvency proceedings; and recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards.

Tatiana Minaeva

Tatiana advises on complex international arbitration and cross-jurisdictional dispute resolution matters.

Tatiana Minaeva specializes in international arbitration (both commercial and investor-state) and in cross border litigation proceedings. Tatiana is ranked as a "global leader" in international arbitration by Who's Who Legal: Arbitration 2021, 2022 and 2023 and is recommended by Legal 500 for her work in international arbitration.

Tatiana is featured as a "distinguished advisor" in the 2023 edition of the Financier Worldwide – Power Players in international arbitration.

Tatiana is on the panel of many of the leading arbitral institutions and is often appointed as an arbitrator (including as a sole arbitrator) under the Rules of UNCITRAL, LCIA, ICC, SCC and ICAC. Tatiana has published extensively on the topic of International Arbitration and is regularly invited to speak at industry conferences.

Tatiana is a co-author of the book ICSID Rules and Regulations 2022 – Article-by-Article Commentary, which offers practical and theoretical guidance for experienced arbitration practitioners.
