The required documents to register for the first time at the Egyptian Federation for Construction and Building Contractors

Article 8 of the Executive Regulation of Law No.104 of 1992 states that:

Any person engaged in construction, buildings, public works, land reclamation, installation, marine construction and any other works of the same nature, whether a natural or juristic person, whatever legal system he may be subject to, shall apply for membership of the federation;

Therefore, it is an obligatory requirement, for any contractor, to register at the federation.

Here, we will clarify the required documents to register at the said federation as per the form of the company.

With respect to Individual Workers Contractors:

  • An official extract of the commercial register showing the capital and the activity of the company shall be contracting (No more than two months extract)
  • An original Tax card showing that the activity of the company is "Contracting" for perusal.
  • An original, stamped and updated print proving that there is an insurance for an engineer + the original syndicate card of the engineer+ the original ID for perusal.
  • A recent and original criminal record sheet of the employer addressed to the Federation.
  • An original stamped bank statement or certificate proving that there is a balance not less than fifty thousand Egyptian pounds in the bank account.
  • Copy of the employer's ID.
  • Documents are to be submitted by the employer or its representative upon a POA concerning dealing with the Federation or non-governmental authorities

With respect to Partnership Companies- Joint Liability:

  • An official extract of the commercial register showing the capital and the activity of the company shall be contracting (No more than two months extract)
  • An original Tax card showing that the activity of the company is "Contracting" (for perusal)
  • An original, stamped and updated print proving that there is insurance for an engineer + the original syndicate card of the engineer+ the original ID for perusal.
  • A recent and original criminal record sheet of the employer addressed to the Federation.
  • The original Memorandum of Association of the company and its amendments for perusal
  • An original stamped bank statement or certificate proving that there is a balance not less than fifty thousand Egyptian pounds in the bank account.
  • A copy of the employer's ID
  • Documents are to be submitted by the employer or its representative upon a POA concerning dealing with the Federation or non-governmental authorities

With respect to Joint Stock and Limited Liability Companies:

  • An official extract of the commercial register showing the capital and the activity of the company shall be contracting (No more than two months extract)
  • An original Tax card showing that the activity of the company is "Contracting" (for perusal)
  • An original, stamped and updated print proving that there is insurance for an engineer + the original syndicate card of the engineer+ the original ID for perusal
  • A recent and original criminal record sheet of the employer addressed to the Federation.
  • The original and stamped Memorandum of Association or Investment gazette of the company.
  • Documents are to be submitted by the employer or its representative upon a POA concerning dealing with the Federation or non-governmental authorities

NOTE:-

  • If the employer is an engineer, the original syndicate card is to be presented for perusal as well as the insurance print that indicates the facility insurance number.
  • As for the contractor applying for registration in the complementary works, the insurance for an engineer is replaced by a certificate from an advisory engineer to supervise work + copy of the syndicate card + the advisory certificate copy and a bank statement of no less than 10 thousand Egyptian pounds
  • Capital required for all citizens is 100,000.00 EGP (one hundred thousand Egyptian pounds) except for the specialized complementary works (20,000.00 EGP), maritime, river and dredging works (500,000.00 EGP) and wells works (300,000 EGP)
  • Subscription fees for first-time registration are 300/00 EGP registration fees + 500.00 EGP annual subscription fees
