ANP RESOLUTION NO. 24 OF JULY 1, 2013

Resolution No. 24/2013 of the Brazilian National Agency for Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels (Agência Nacional do Petróleo, Gás Natural e Biocombustíveis - "ANP") went into effect on July 1, 2013. The resolution establishes the basic guidelines for ANP to promote bid rounds for the pre-salt and other strategic areas, and is the result of Public Hearing No. 16/2013, which took place on June 11, 2013.

Various comments and suggestions to the draft regulation were made by the oil and gas industry and other interested parties. However, no material changes were made to the final version of the regulation.

In addition, ANP has not made available any information regarding the dates for the disclosure of the tender protocol for the first pre-salt bid round.

The official text of Resolution No. 24/2013, as published in the Brazilian Official Gazette, is available here.
