On December 9, 2019, Federal Environmental Agency ("IBAMA") has published the Ordinance No. 26 ("Ordinance"), establishing the Federal Environmental Licensing Management System ("SisG-LAF"), an online platform to manage the demands related to environmental licensing processes.

The main purpose of SisG-LAF is to improve the process through the automation of services provided by IBAMA.

The SisG-LAF encompasses:

  • Request of Preliminary, Installation and Operating Licenses;
  • Issuance of Reference Terms for environmental assessments;
  • Filing of documents in compliance with conditions set forth on the Licenses;
  • Request of permits issued by IBAMA.

It is important to highlight that the use of SisG-LAF will occur gradually, starting with the requests of Preliminary License, and a schedule should be disclosed by IBAMA for the availability of services.

Veirano's environmental team is highly experienced on the subject and is available to provide further clarification.

The content of this article is intended to provide a general guide to the subject matter. Specialist advice should be sought about your specific circumstances.
