RPJ's Nicole Page, an early and active advocate in the #MeToo Movement, was recently interviewed about the overturning of Harvey Weinstein's 2020 convictions for rape and criminal sexual behavior. Weinstein's New York conviction was overturned by the New York State of Appeals due to the trial court's allowance of testimony by other alleged victims whose cases were not included in the trial. Ms. Page takes issue with this decision stating that "If juries are not allowed to hear from other survivors who were subjected to the same patterns of conduct, convictions may be much harder to obtain. The Court decided that their testimony about Weinstein's prior sexual assaults was prejudicial and should not have been admitted at trial." Read more about the case here.
