London — Mayer Brown has advised Round Hill Capital, the real estate investment, development and asset management firm, on the sale of its student housing business, Nido Living, to Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments).

Round Hill acquired Nido Living in 2012 and has since grown the business into one of Europe's leading providers of purpose-built student accommodation. As part of the transaction, Round Hill Capital is also selling its stake in its existing student accommodation joint venture with CPP Investments, which comprises more than 5,000 beds across 15 European assets. Mayer Brown also acted for Round Hill on the setting up of this joint venture in 2021.

The Mayer Brown team was led by Real Estate partner Simon Price and Corporate & Securities partner Alastair Dolman and included Corporate & Securities associates Madeleine Pryde, Anna Jackson-Smith and Josephine Wong (all London) and counsel Tobias Reiser, Tina Hoffmann and Malte Richter (all Frankfurt); Tax Transactions & Consulting partner Ben Eaton and associate Tamar Ruiz, Intellectual Property partner Mark Prinsley and associate Reece Randall; Employment partner Miriam Bruce and counsel Katherine Fox (all London) as part of a wider team drawn from practices in London and Germany.
