New York Paid Family Leave Law Takes Effect On January 1, 2018

 Effective January 1, 2018, the New York Paid Family Leave Law will require virtually all employers in New York to provide Paid Family Leave to their employees.  This Stroock Special Bulletin provides an overview of the law, including what employers and employees are covered, qualifying events that entitle employees to paid family leave, the amount of benefits under the law, job protection and medical benefit continuation, interface with the Family Medical Leave Act, and penalties for non-compliance.
