Yesterday saw the launch of the first 4G mobile network by EE , the owner of TMobile and Orange, a full six months before other suppliers. It is using its existing bandwidth, prior to the spectrum auction next spring which will open up 4G to the other network providers.

EE will be hoping that its offering tempts enough customers away from the other providers to give them a lasting competitive advantage when the inevitable confusing plethora of price bundles become available next year from the different operators.
