Following recommendations from the Low Pay Commission, the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform has announced the National Minimum Wage rates that will apply from 1 October 2008

Following recommendations from the Low Pay Commission, the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform has announced the National Minimum Wage rates that will apply from 1 October 2008 :

  • The adult rate (for workers aged 22 and over) will increase from the current £5.52 per hour to £5.73.
  • The development rate (for workers aged 18-21) will increase from £4.60 to £4.77.
  • The rate for workers aged 16 and 17 will increase from £3.40 to £3.53.
