BSA Reduces The Software Piracy In Turkey

Business Software Alliance (BSA) has been able to reduce the software piracy level as a result of intensive activities to raise the Public Awareness and to enforce its members rights in Turkey.

BSA organised and sponsored number of seminars on software protection and arranged for more than 40 legal actions in major cities of Turkey. The market resources estimate that as a result of the BSA activities the software business has been doubled in one year while the piracy levels have been reduced to around 85 % in one year.

BSA has recently took conducted successful raids in Izmir where number of resellers and a major end user were caught with pirated software. Criminal proceedings have been commenced and some of the resellers were detained by the police for 24 hours.
