The National Intellectual Property Office (DINAPI), in Resolution No. 01/2017 of February 28, 2017, established that all trademark agents must file trademark registration applications electronically through DINAPI's Web Services System, on e-forms approved by DINAPI.

The resolution also establishes that all notices of trademark filing processes shall be made through the DINAPI Web Services System, directly to the e-mail address indicated by each duly registered trademark agent.

Since 2016 requests for trademark renewals are exclusively being processed electronically, using e-forms provided by DINAPI.

Implementation of electronic processes is part of DINAPI's Strategic Plan, in line with WIPO and PROSUR guidelines, for more efficient organization of the institution.

The content of this article is intended to provide a general guide to the subject matter. Specialist advice should be sought about your specific circumstances.
