On 11 August 2016, the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation (FAS Russia) imposed an administrative fine on Google Inc. in the amount of 438,067,400 roubles (6,760,299 US dollars at the official exchange rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation on the same date).

The amount of the fine has been determined on the basis of Google Inc. revenue from the sale of goods (works, services) at the market at which an administrative violation was committed - abuse of the dominant position.

The case against Google Inc., Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC (Russia) was initiated by FAS Russia based on the application of Yandex LLC and on 18 September 2015, FAS Commission, which considered the case, issued the decision and prescription in connection with violation by Google Inc. and Google Ireland Limited of Article 10, part 1 of the Competition Protection Law.
