The Organic Law of the Federal Center for Conciliation and Labor Registration (referred hereto as "CFCRL"), was published on January 6th, 2020 in the Official Gazette.

The conformation of said institute derives from the amendments to the Federal Labor Law approved last year, this regulation contemplates 25 articles and four transitory provisions. First off, it defines the object of the Center, which is defined as the registration of Union associations, the deposit of Collective Labor Contracts and Internal Labor Regulations, the conciliatory function at a federal level, both collective and individual, and the verification of union democracy processes, within others.

It is established that the legal domicile of the Center will be in Mexico City and will have state offices, which will have a governing body and an administrative body, defined as the Government Board and the General Directorate.

The Government Board will have a technical Secretariat, it will also be composed by the head of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, the Tax Ministry, the National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data, of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography and of the National Electoral Institute.

On the other hand, with regards to the General Directorate, the CFCRL Director General will serve for six years and may be reelected for one more period for one occasion.
