In the latest issue of The Mena Business Law Review Partner Lara Barbary and Senior Associate Robert Mitchley write about the new amendments to the UAE Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Law.

"The UAE Foreign Direct Investment Law was enacted on 23 September 2018. The key principle for non-UAE nationals (individuals or companies) to own up to 100% of a company incorporated in the UAE operating in certain sectors defined by a Cabinet decision.

The new developments introduced by the FDI Law have now been further developed by way of Federal Decree-Law No 26/2020 issued on 28 September 2020. This article summarises the key developments introduced by the new Decree as well as other ancillary changes and developments introduced in Dubai and Abu Dhabi to attract foreign direct investment."
