- KPMG Consulting and OST Business Rules Ltd to form strategic alliance -

Current systems architecture weaknesses in investment banks are resulting in unnecessary and significant operational risk. However, leading investment banks will benefit from a new alliance launched today between KPMG Consulting and OST Business Rules Ltd.

OST Business Rules develops Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) and e-Business Integration (eBI) software that provides end user control in the integration of the many disparate systems typically found in the front, middle and back offices of financial service organisations. KPMG Consulting works with the world's leading investment banks to maximise the effectiveness of their back office operations.

Jeremy Wood, Director at OST Business Rules Ltd, commented: "KPMG Consulting's strong investment banking business and consulting expertise makes the firm an ideal partner for us. The strategic direction and advice which KPMG Consulting provides, complements our services by identifying where, and in what format, business rules can be best applied. The consultancy will add value to clients by combining a thorough knowledge of the wholesale banking sector with a highly trained OST Business Rules implementation team."

Adrian Maconick, OST alliance manager at KPMG Consulting, added: "Many investment banks are striving for stronger financial control and operational efficiency. Enterprise Application Integration and the use of business rules technology is fundamental to achieving this - hence our alliance with OST Business Rules Ltd, a leading specialist in the area. In fact, the importance of such projects is so great that it is likely that most - if not all - investment banks will be incorporating such programmes into their systems re-developments over the next few years. Our alliance will work to capture a substantial share of that market."
