On Thursday, June 25, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a decree “On implementation of a pilot project of electronic residency in Ukraine”. The Minister of Digital Transformation, Fedorov Mikhail, believes this step will have a positive impact on the investment climate, the national economy, GDP and will result in an increase of state budget revenues.

The pilot project will run for two years (July 1, 2020 to July 1, 2022) and is mainly aimed at attracting foreigners from the IT, marketing, advertising and gaming industries. It will allow such professionals to benefit from government services online such as:

  • to receive a Ukrainian electronic signature
  • to obtain a tax registration number-to open a local bank account online
  • access to administrative services of Ukraine.

According to the resolution, the Ministry of Digital Transformation will submit proposals and necessary acts within two months to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Therefore, in the nearest future, the system of “E-residency” will be available in Ukraine.
