This 36 square mile island belongs to the Leeward Islands of the West Indies archipelago stretching from Saba in the North to Grenada in the South. The island is approximately eight miles long and six miles wide. It has a natural tropical vegetative beauty and with a population of approximately 10,000 has been named the Queen of the Caribees.

The Island has for many years been an exclusive resort for the quietly wealthy. In recent years the Government has actively encouraged the development of the offshore financial sector as a second economic resource for the Island.
