Bill referred to Senate Committee for report

The proposed Australian Charities and Not for Profits Commission (ACNC) abolition bill that Kevin Andrews, the Minister for Social Services, introduced into Parliament last Wednesday has not been debated with the other "cutting red tape" reforms of the Abbott Government this week. "Repeal Day" came and went yesterday without this bill reappearing in the list of items for debate.

Breaking news is that the Bill has today been referred to the Senate Economics Legislation Committee, which is due to provide its report to the House on 16 June 2014.

We will keep you posted about further developments.
