The Australian Charities and Not-for-profit Commission Bill's (ACNC) scheduled start date of 1 October 2012 has been delayed.

The government has blamed the delayed start date on a "Coalition filibuster" in the Parliament, in a joint media release with Mark Butler, Minister for Social Inclusion and David Bradbury, Assistant Treasurer and Minister Assisting for Deregulation.

The bill has moved to the Senate but is not expected to be voted on until mid-October. We will let you know when the new start is announced. Please contact your local office below if you have any questions.
