Please find below a link to the submission that we have made on behalf of our Higher Education Sector clients, in respect to the Better targeting of Not-For-Profit tax concessions – Consultation Paper 27 May 2011:

A draft of this submission was forwarded to all Australian Universities for comment and we have received feedback and support from a number of Universities. We thank everyone for their input.

Hopefully, Treasury will take on board our concerns and ensure that the University sector is not materially impacted under these proposed reforms. We await the draft legislation with anticipation.

Proposed Regime Health Check

As previously highlighted Moore Stephens is currently developing a "Health Check" product which will determine the potential operational and financial impact on each University that can be provided to various Committees (Finance / Internal Audit).

This Health Check will identify the key issues and potential structuring/planning that a Higher Education Provider may undertake in preparing for any potential changes.

If your organisation would like a specific health check report that can be provided to your various committees please contact either Stephen O'Flynn or Steve Allan on (03) 8635 1800.
