LSEG Deals Intelligence (formerly Refinitiv) has published its mid-market M&A legal advisory league tables for the first quarter of 20241. When measured by volume of mid-market2 transactions, Gowling WLG has once again posted high deal numbers for Canada, the UK, Europe and globally, continuing its strong performance of the last several years.
Although the global number of mid-market transactions in Q1 2024 was down by 29 per cent when compared to Q1 2023, Gowling WLG’s rankings in key markets strengthened when compared to its peers. The firm was credited with:
- 23 Canadian mid-market deals tied for a #3 ranking on the Canadian league tables (up from #4 in Q1 2023),
- 10 UK deals tied for a #12 ranking on the UK league tables (up from #18 in Q1 2023),
- 17 European deals for a #23 ranking on the European league tables (up from #53 in Q1 2023),
- 35 global mid-market M&A transactions tied for a #19 ranking among all law firms worldwide (up from #36 in Q1 2023).
