Partners Jane Colston and Jessica Lee served as editors and contributors to Cryptoassets Law Over Borders Comparative Guide. Published by The Global Legal Post, the book gives a practical overview of the law regulating cryptoassets in key jurisdictions across the world.

As well as editing the guide, Colston and Lee authored the U.K. chapter. Partners Clara Krivoy and Stephen Palley, and associate Sharix Alicea authored the U.S. chapter.

The guide covers issues including licensing and anti-money laundering requirements, the regulation of cryptoasset promotion, rules governing crypto bankruptcy and insolvency, the legal treatment of DAOs and smart contracts, and provides insights into proposed legal reforms in this complex and rapidly evolving space.

The guide was launched online on April 18, the same day as Brown Rudnick’s second annual Global Blockchain Conference in New York. Krivoy and Palley chaired the conference, which featured crypto investors, insurers, legal service providers, exchange and trading platforms and compliance experts as speakers.

The print edition of the guide will be launched at The Global Legal Post’s Luxury Legal Summit at the British Museum on 11 June.

The Global Legal Post’s ‘Law Over Borders’ comparative guides provide essential information on law and legal practice across the world. They are available in print, as pdfs and online. The Cryptoassets Guide has launched online [available here] and will be available in print from June 2024.
