The Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) recently circulated an advisory titled: "Beware of fake Philippines visa, issued by the Philippines tourism marketing office – India" alerting individuals who have tried to obtain fake Philippine visas from illegal or illegitimate sources.

The Philippines airport authorities have off late detected a spurt in fake visas at the airport. It is being informed that visitors who did not visit the Philippines Embassy for their visa or those visas that are obtained by recognized travel agents must be emailed to the Embassy for verification before their travel. 

Generally, every country has its own high-security features on the visa sticker which makes it impossible to make a fake visa. However, the security design template on the Philippine visa sticker may not be secure enough which may have led to this sudden issue of fake visas.
