An increase to the employer's contribution to finance the social benefits granted by the Institute of Social Security (INSS), came into effect since January, 2017. It is established in the Decree of Amendment to the Decree No. 975 "Regulation to the General Law of Social Security".

This year the employer's contribution will be 19% from the salary of the insured workers, three percentage points more than in 2013, when the Decree was issued. Regarding 2016, the adjustment of this year had an increase of 0.5 percentage points.
