According to one of the recent changes in the RK legislation on broadcasting, owners of foreign television and radio companies retransmitting TV and radio channels in Kazakhstan are required to register a representative office in Kazakhstan before 1 January 2017. Alternatively, it is permitted to register a branch of a foreign company in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In addition, foreign television and radio channels with the participation of the State in their charter capital will not be able to continue to distribute their channels as of 1 January 2017 without establishing a legal entity in Kazakhstan.

In view of the changes in the law, Dentons prepared a legal review on the corresponding topic in English and Russian. The review in particular contains information relating to doing business in Kazakhstan through a representative office/branch, the main stages of its organization, appointment of the head of the representative office/branch, formation of the staff, taxation, etc. We will be happy to send this review to all interested parties.

In addition, Dentons offers its clients and interested parties a unique commercial offer on the registration of a branch or representative office in Kazakhstan at minimum expense.
