The Ukrainian parliament has passed a law on state regulation of securities markets which greatly expands the powers of the Securities and Capital Markets Commission to regulate and supervise securities market operators. The law completes the transfer of regulatory responsibilities from the Ministry of Finance to the Commission and authorises the establishment of self-regulated organisations to which certain responsibilities of the Commission can be delegated.
